From my desk to yours...

After completing my studies, I am excited to share my skills with our community.

As many of you are aware, the past 14 years have been a whirlwind of activity, balancing academics, family life, business growth, the COVID pandemic, and relocating interstate to begin anew. It's been an incredibly wild, challenging, and productive journey!

So, what does this all mean?

It signifies that I've dedicated a significant amount of time (and, let's be honest, finances) to enhance my expertise and knowledge in a specialized area of dermatology nursing that I'm truly passionate about. My focus has included:

- Skin cancer medicine, encompassing assessments, imaging, and referrals.

- Wound care using state-of-the-art treatment therapies and comprehensive management strategies, such as scar revision and lymphoedema treatments.

- Specialized clinical dermal therapies aimed at skin health and rehabilitation.

- Regenerative medicine utilizing EmCyte Pure® PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) for hair restoration, scalp health, and dermal bio-remodeling.

EmCyte Pure ™ Platelet Rich Plasma has arrived at SkinRehab & we are so excited to offer this evidence based & effective modality for regeneration of skin, wounds , hair & scalp concerns. If you are looking for an alternative to other aesthetic practices for rejuvenation, collagen bio-remodelling, collagen induction & volumising, then this is for you!

We love this treatment & the results it is bringing to our community for long term cumulative skin health.

New treatments & innovative methods

For the past 34 years I have been immersed in the world of skin therapies. Starting from humble beginnings as a Beauty Therapist where I learned & loved the benefits of therapeutic touch coupled with non-invasive technologies to nurture mind, body & spirit. I still love the foundations of these therapies & have incorporated them into my clinical dermal therapies & dermatology nursing treatments. I found that I just can’t separate myself from the nurturing side of my clinical practice….so I bring it all to the table! Or in this case, the treatment room ;)

Some of the technologies I use have their foundations in traditional beauty therapy like iontophoresis & electrolysis. My point of difference however, is how I maximise their potential for chronic skin conditions, hypersensitivity, sun damage, inflammatory disorders & aging concerns. You will find that I will utilise a few modalities in one treatment to obtain the desired response, end point or outcome from your skin’s healing potential. To see what kind of treatments I have on offer, please refer to the website & have a look around.

The new modalities on offer now are specifically for those dealing with oedema, lipoedema or lymphoedema with Sequential Intermittent Pneumatic Compression (SIPC) therapy. This makes a great addition to the traditional Manual Lymphatic Draining massage that I currently perform. SIPC can be used for sports recovery also.

Until next time….

As I sign off from this first blog, I have a cheeky little request…

As a new & emerging business, it’s important for me to know how we’re doing. For those of you that can spare 5 mins, I would love it if you could please leave a review of your time at SkinRehab. All you need to do is click on the link below & leave a comment. I would be so grateful! Until the next time we meet, stay safe, warm & remember your sunscreen everyday ;)
